Scientific attitudes and skills are an integral part of the science curriculum. A key component of this is scientific diligence. This means that students are expected to display an ongoing resolve in gathering scientific data. Our project, in room 4-35, is to collect data on Winnipeg's sunrise and sunset times. There are a number of possible sources for the data including the weather stations on t.v., the newspaper, the internet (note the link to the left of
this page), and even other classmates. It is important that students do not simply find a list of future sunrise and sunset times and transcribe them all in one sitting.
